Washdown and Bilge Pump

Can you use a bilge pump as a wash down pump or is there a difference in pressure between the two.My buddy is using a bilge pump for wash down but there is hardly any water pressure.I think there is a difference but not sure....

There is a night and day difference. Wash down pumps are a different animal than bilge pumps. Spend the bucks. There have been posts in the past on installation, brands and models.

I bought a used RV pump off Craigs List. $20.00 and some plastic tubing from the hardware store. $6.00 Nice wash down shoots water thru a nozzle 20 feet.

On a washdown pump, is your water source from the water your boat is in, or is there a onboard resevoir. I'm just new to this. Fishy

I use water from the outside. A tube runs from above the water line to the bottom of the transom. No holes below the water line.
Drawback? Can't use the pump at speed.
