Default Any suggestions for Shasta this weekend?

On a whim we are heading to shasta this weekend. We are staying on the Sacramento arm. Any good suggestions on where to fish or what to use. Anything will be helpful, will be taking my boat.

Hey TK- check my Clear Lake Post below. I hit Shasta for a day on the way down. The water was down and really clear. Had scale line size down to 6lb floro to get bit. Fish were on the main lake points and just on the sides of them. Look for steeper ones and they were in 40-60 feet of water. Watch for them on your graph. We were darterheading and dropshotting 6" handpours in browns and purples. Then again we only caught about 20 in 7 hours so it wasn't like were were really on them. Best 5 would have went a little over 10lbs. It the water is still really clear (I'm not sure if they got any rain), then try that stuff. If you can find off colored water, look for a ripbait or spinnerbait bait. You might try some heavy football head jigs too. Good luck down there, let us know how you do.

Basscaster, the fishing was ok, rained steady and hard all day Sat. I caught 10 on Sat. 8 spots 2 LM's all 12- 17 inches. All fish but 2 were caught on D-shot roboworm fx. Other 2 were on jig. Sunday got up and rain had stopped but very windy, only had couple hours of fishing so threw spinner bait looking to cover water mustered 2 small fish. Never been on the lake before so it was very educational and a bit overwhelming, but just stuck to what I knew. Spent some time just motoring around and looking at the graph. Big lake, need about a month off to go down and explore, thanks for your help. Water temp 49- 51 and fish came from 5' to 25'. Also took the dam tour pretty cool and learned some neat stuff about the lake.
