spooner you might try updenkelders in newport you will need to acid etch it and a whole lot of elbow grease (been there) and honestly you might get it looking pretty good but I can almost guarenty the water line will return.I would clean it up and paint it. RJ

A buffer and some high quality aluminum polish.
I have used Mother Goose aluminum cleaner and polish, It works real well but is hard to find. The last place I found it was at Bratton Internatioal. I think most places that sales diesel truck parts sould have it.

Used to be an outfit near the Troutdale Airport that sold 'Heavy Metal' brand polishing compound. They would buff your entire boat out for about $250. Give it that mirror image shine. Saw a few boats they worked on and they were beautiful.

Never had my sled done. It was almost too pretty. I'm just an ol' fishin' type. If I want Duckworth glitter...I'll buy a bass boat and get some true "Disco-MetalFlake Sparkle". Ya know, I might be semi-attractive with all those patches & endorsements on my fishin' coat. Ya...and I always wanted my name embroidered on my coat, too.

Believe it or not, just try lemon juice on a rag. Try it on just a small area first. Works good!

Heavy Metal Polish can be found at Les Schwaab tire stores up here. There is 3 kinds: Light, medium and heavy grit. I use the medium grit on the brushed aluminum on my boat. Gunnels and rails front to back on one side takes about 1 hour 15 minutes without a major strain, but it does take a little work. Shines up nice.

Good luck,

The best shine comes from fish slime!
Put the boat in the water and gofish.
