Default Moving to Portland........

Some of you may remeber but I posted a couple of weeks ago asking about commute times in the portland area. I want to thank everyone for you great replys they were much appreciated For a while we were up in the air by we finally got it all nailed down. We are moving down to the Portland end of this month. After spending nearly all of our lives on the "dry" side we are excited at this opportunity. With her working in Gresham and me working in North Portland we decided on a nice place in Fairview. It is right on Blue Lake and seems pretty quiet but what really excites me is that the boat launch at Chinook Landing is about 2 minutes away This is pretty sweet considering the closest place that we fish now is about 100 miles. Anyways wanted to thank you all for you advice, and I look forward to meeting a bunch of ifishers. If anybody lives in the area and ever needs someone to fish with I would love to join you and I will be posting some open seats myself. Time to get back to packing.......Can't wait !!!!!

Your going to love summer steelhead and fall chinook living out there in Fairview! I moved to Portland from cold dry winters, with lots of snow and dirty temperature inversions in the winter, from the Salt Lake Valley in Utahr. That was almost 24 years ago now, I much prefer the sweet, moist, clean air of winter in the Northwest, not to mention that it's green all over year round.

If you need someone to give you a clue how to fish that area come summer, get in touch with me, that's MY water out there around Chinook!

Fairview - pretty good choice considering everything you've got going on with your employers. I recall you were thinking of Troutdale and I do have friends out there who like it - I just didn't like the way the wind parted my hair.

Anyhow good luck with the move and welcome to the little city trying to grow up.

Hey Jason, Solid choice on choosing Fairview. Yes it can be windy but you will be close to the main path to Drano!! I see you mentioned Chinook landing, and Natrually the Sandy is near by too, Which is Awesome!!

The only downfall I could see is you will be living and fishing in the general vacinity of these 2 guys..

Alone, they are OK.. Together its a Mess!
Legendery !!

Welcome to Fairview
