Default Braided Line In Saltwater?

I'm going rcokfish jigging with my grandpa this summer and was thinking that a braided line would get the jig deeper, since the line is thinner. But I'm not sure how well a braided line holds up in the saltwater?

I don't think you need to worry about the line condition. I would be more concerned with things like guide wear, knots and how to break it off if you get hung up. Those super braids will cut youre hand if you try to break it off like mono allows. You should be able to get some extra feel with the braid and better sinking quality of the jigs.
