Default Fuel mix for Yamaha 6hp

I just got a 1989 Yamaha 6hp and the person that sold it to me said he used nothing but Yamaha 2 stroke mix at 100:1. I used to have a 1992 Yamaha 6hp that I ran with Quicksilver 2 stroke mix at 50:1.
Is there any problem with running it at 50:1 or should I stick with the Yamaha oil? I want to start off on the right foot.
Thanks in advance

For what it is worth I would say 100 to 1 but use Yamalube and add Yamaha ring free and that motor will never fail.

Ive been using Amsoil 100:1 two stroke oil for over 25 years in all my 2stroke motors, never even replaced a set of rings. My chain saws, weed eater, mantis tiller, motorcycles, and 5 different outboards have run like the wind.
