Businesses and communities down there lobby for clam tides and fishing openers. It would be nice if WDFW and ODFW published easily findable lists of who lobbied for what openers. Would help a guy decide where to and where not to spend his money.

It is not uncommon for businesses or communities anywhere to lobby for fishing or hunting opportunities. In this case, word on the street is a lot of lobbying has been done by the Ilwaco and Chinook businesses.

Charter boats (Quasi commercial affiliation) have been pushing for this since it closed.

Buckmaster (Commissioner who has background in commercial fishing industry in Astoria) is friends with the charter boat folks. He and his henchmen will push for it.
