I'll miss you guys at the Salty Dog Convention!

Well Dogs, it is unfortunate, but I will be missing the Salty Dog convention due to a prescheduled trip that we take every year. It's a bummer, but I just couldn't sell missing the February trip to Cozumel to my new bride to carouse with guys that smell of a cross between anise oil, WD-40, and jalepenos.

So, contemplating diving in Cozumel, yet thinking of the Salty Dogs, I came up with the following:

1. I could be the first person to arrive at the dive site via sea-biscuit. (There's no green water, so I'll have to be a blue water hog) Stupid Roy, once again, I will be forced to think of you everytime I think of a green water hog, a sea biscuit, a biscuit, or the Penguin from Batman cartoons.
2. I will show pictures to the guys running the pangas and ask which is better, Ed Wing or a Banana Boat
3. While flying in from Dallas, I'll do my best to get the captain to do some aerial recon of bait balls for the locals.
4. ??????

So, wish I could be there, but if any of you are at the Sportsmans Show this Thursday, stop by the I-Fish booth from 11-4 and say howdy!

Are you fishing while you're there? The sailfish have been on fire for the last couple weeks with many boats C&R'ing 40-50 per day!
Have a good time (I would have made the same decision).

I don't have any plans to fish. This is a diving trip primarily. We missed last year due to Hurricane Wilma devestating the island, but looking forward to diving and seeing what has changed. Less dive this trips than in the past. I'm shooting for 12 dives, half the number I did last time. I'm fortunate in that I'll be diving in another tropical location just a couple weeks after this trip so I'm actually going to try and slow down a bit. I have a different camera/housing and strobe so I'll be getting used to that too. I'll be there wishing I had the Onokai level of experience, knowledge, and equipment!

Still, next Wed. is this deep, fast drift, dive..... Hope we are fortunate to see the squadrons again... Ye-Haw!

Mike I'll miss you at the trade show and the slide show as well as the Dinner dude-bringing my wife this year to. Dive trips are one of the best reasons to travel--we took our honeymoon in the Solomons aboard a dive boat so I know you will have a great time with your other 1/2. Take lot of shots and we will think of you sweating in the sun. Mark
