BOE-

It was good meeting you in person.

The clevises that I've seen fer this purpose are made of nylon & intended for use on mono. Your leaders should be fine.

Sailcat - It was nice meeting you also. Looking forward to Dreamcasters shad event.

Fishbait - Who did you bring along to catch 100 shad? I saw you last spring on the river, you were the only guy on the river with no shad after 8 hours . As a matter of a fact I was really touched when that 5 year old boy handed his pole over to your boat so you could land one. I was hoping you were the "challenged kid" I got this year during dreamcasters in my boat. 4 hours of non stop action should sent you home with some good stories for a change.

BOE,

I used those nylon clevises for years without a problem. Finally started making spinners on wire though, with a big fish on you'll lose the spinner blade most times. They are handy to switch blades looking for the right pattern, but IMO once found it you're better off tying to wire.

Default Spinners on Mono

I have been using one of those plastic gizmos that you can latch a spinner blade onto. The plastic gizmo slides right on the line above your prawn (and a few beads). Does anybody think this gizmo spinning around on the monofilament leader is making a weak spot on the line. I have not been using them very long. They dont seem to leave a mark on the leader, but that thing has to do a whole lot of revolution in a few hours of fishing.

They are pretty slick for changing out the blade without dis-assembling the enire set up.

BOE,

With as many fish as you catch I don't think you have anything to worry about......LOL,

Seriously, I have used these clevisis or gizmo as you called them for a home made shad spinner that I use in cold water. Many trips and hundreds of shad on 12 lb and never had a problem.
