Default Another newby to the forum

Hello Everybody! I am also new to the board and would like to say thanks for all the great tips and words of wisdom over the last year! I have been reading the forum about 7 months, and look forward to making new friends who share the same interests as I, fish, fish, fish! Going after springers this weekend. Anybody have input for the slough area around coon island?

Just thought I would say welcome, Kenia!
I don't have any input on the Springers till Bill gets home!

If you troll, troll cut plug or whole herring from the top of the Coon Island Marina with about 40 inch dropper, down past the actual Coon Island slot (right side of the island going down stream) and as far down as you desire. GO SLOW. Watch and pace with the other boats. Keep your drop weight touching or near the bottom. You can also anchor fish once the current starts running from high tide, using the same thing or spinner and prawn rigs or quick fish/flat fish. Three most productive baits for this area. Think Pink on the prawn rigs. Flame red or silver with red spots are productive plugs for the area. Green or Red pack herring. By the way who BOUGHT ALL THE HERRING in the world out there or did I sleep through a shortage? LOL. Stop and say hi to the Blue Willie Asaltor. Good catching.

Fished Wednesday. REAL slow, only about
four I knew of and they all had adipose
fins intact. Hope that 70 percent figure
is true, but it's still real early. We are
just all excited because it's actually
fishable at this time of year and not
chocolate milk. A friend got three before
the 12th, we've got one and a nice steelie.
With the nets out, it's time, any tide now.
Saturday or not, more friendly and relaxing
down there than other places, fish or not.
