Default Redesigned Trailcam Box

Well this is my second attempt on a trailcam box as I failed on the first when the camera was inside the box the door for the camera would not open . “Thanks sliverpicker for catching that” The new design, the front and bottom open to give me access to the front and bottom of the camera without having to remove the camera from the box…

I can't wait to use my trailcam

Nice looking box......

You have a ballpark dollar amount in case I decide to copy?

I've discovered when I try and build something .....it usually works out I could have bought it for the same or less than what I paid for my mistakes in building....

But it's fun to build anyway....

Thanks guys...

Sliverpicker the pad lock works on a left to right slide action see attached photo I hope that helps...

Chug I did not make any holes in the bottom as it is not sealed and any water that get in there can drain out the sides as there is a very small gap...

Guys I wish I could mass produce them or at least do a few but this one took me 2 full days to build and about drove me crazy doing it… Maybe when I have more experience with trailcam I might have a better idea how to build a better box as I have found a far better pad lock for the next design….

One of the benefits of this design is I am able to change the compact flash card or batteries without removing the trailcam from the box…

Are you going spray paint the top side where the flash sets?. It might not hurt to spray a Matte Black on the top. To limit Flash back to the lens. as with anything that might reflect back to lens.

I found that real to be problem with my cam, all twings, grass blades. bad enough getting a coon nose up to it when it goes off.. just a photo of pink & white star burst...

LOOKS dandy.. Good Craftsmanship on the metal & welds... top notch.

You now need to provide detailed instructions and schematic. I could talk to my son's jr high shop teacher. This could be a money maker for them. Get donated metal. Take orders from ifish, proceeds go to school. You would get a tax right off... Everyone wins!!!

Maybe I am not seeing the whole picture, but can you get the camera in the box after bolting to the tree? It looks like once the box is mounted to the tree that the camera won't slide in. Just wondering?

Chug the reflection from the flash is good concern I think the black matte spray is a good idea to fix that problem… Thanks man…

ArcheryHunter I’m all for helping our schools but, don’t have the first clue as to how to put together a schematic as this box is from my pea brain lol… Any ideas

TheTexan I will do my best to demonstrate it please bear with me…

For demonstration purposes lets imagine that the box is mounted to a tree… Forgive me, I’m not too good at instructions so I took some photos too… Hope it helps…

Step 1. Remove the pad lock and opening the door.

Step 2. Remove the trailcam mounting screw.

Step 3. Slide the trailcam down.

Step 4. Remove the trailcam.
