Default Dipping on the Lewis

Anybody been smelt dipping on the lewis, I know they are thick down at the mouth because there are a couple thousand gulls out across the river from my house (columbia city) diving like crazy for them. Just wondering where a good spot would be on the lewis to dip from the bank thanks

I remember hearing that smelt can only be taken from the Cowlitz by regs. Did they open up the Lewis by special order, or was that poster wrong about the regs?

RT I believe when they liberalized the days to dip, they also opened up the other tributaries. However the days to dip are Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. If someone was dipping their limit today they were breaking the law. That is unless they were doing so in the Sandy, which has a 25lb limit and is open 24x7. As is anywhere else in oregon you can find them.

Ramstrong is right, All washington tributaries are open W,S,S from 6am - 10pm, 10lbs, all oregon tribs are open 24-7, 25lbs. You would think that since they havent had a run in the sandy in 10+ the regs would be different but thats ODFW for ya.
