A request.....
I would sincerely appreciate a critique from any of you on this webpage. This is not a commercial page, no banners or paid advertisements, just RJ's website that he and I put together.
The pages load slow, lots of pics....

That would be Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, not Fish and Game.

Re: A request.....
I think it's a great site. Love the sound effects and animation.

That made me sea sick.... Nice site. I like your graphic java tricks. Nice fish pics too you might want to label the fish you use for links. For us internet illiterate types

Re: A request.....
Funny stuff and not too shabby.
I think one of the reasons that your site is slow to load is the number of animated .gifs on your page, plus whatever all those other .gifs at the bottom are. Do away with some of those .gifs at the bottom and use a link instead and it should load faster. I hope I could help.

Re: A request.....
Gentlemen, thanks for your input. I have made most of the changes suggested and added some links. If I have left anyone out that should be included, (or put one in that should be removed ) let me know.
Lake and pool applets look best on FISHING pages IMO. Check out what I did to hubby's pic while he had a 47 pound halibut on!

Re: A request.....
AuntyM,
Content wise, your site is good. Coding wise, your site is poor.
The site is *way* too slow and cumbersome.
Then again, I'm not one for bogging down a web site with cutsie sounds, java, gifs, and garbage like that. Just my opinion on web sites.

Re: A request.....
Parker,
Not alot I can do with the coding....since it's a Homestead page. The other stuff was added for fun.... Perhaps I got carried away. (just a hobby, not a "pro" like Jen!) I am sorry you didn't care for it, but thanks for the input. I will see if there is anything RJ will part with.

Re: A request.....
I have a high speed connection and it loaded up fairly fast, but I can see that if you had a dial up connection, then it might be cumbersome. Then again, this is 2001, if you don't have a high speed connection.....GET ONE!!! Don't plan on getting anything done other than surfing the Net because it really gets addicting when you can listen to music, watch movies that download almost instantly, and surf between six sites at once. C'mon Parker, tell us how your T3 or whatever you have is so superior to us little home cable modem useres
Like I said before, the animations and sound effects are cool

Re: A request.....
Parker, I think you might have been a bit harsh on Auntie M.
Homestead provides the tools and she did a nice job with them.
Auntie M.- You go, girl! Nice job.
