Default Leupold VX-L

Curious if any of you guys have the vx-l (the one with the half moon out of the bottom) or know much about it. I am looking at this scope because of the 50mm objective while mounting like a 30mm. Are many of these selling? I am also looking at the 2.5 x 10 45mm LPS, any thoughts? thanks.

I looked at buying one of the VX-L's but found out there was NO scope caps available. I hunt in bad weather too often and decided to wait until someone comes out with some kind of caps.

Buy the LPS if you can afford it. I have info from a Very Reliable person that the VXL is not quite as good.

The word at work that we have gotten is that Leupold is coming out with scope covers for this scope in 2007. Although we have not recieved their 2007 catalog yet, id expect to be seeing them in there and in the store sometime soon. Hopefully Leupold comes out with something for these scopes because the reason alot of people arent buying them is due to this problem. Especially in OR and WA with our weather and terrain its a must to have scope covers.

What do the scope cover from Leupold cost? Something like 50 bucks a pop? Hopefully Butler Creek will jump on the bandwagon.
