Some of you may remember back in August, when I posted about my sister and her bout with West Nile virus. Well, she is back out in the woods and chasing her elk. We went out searching for her cow Friday morning.
She has a disabled hunter/angler permit but she has chosen to hunt on foot. Her permit allows her to hunt from a motor vehicle under certain circumstances.
Her hunt lasts until the end of March so she has plenty of time.
Here's a couple of pictures I took of her while we were out on Friday.

We probably hiked about 4 miles total. That is probably the most she has walked for any reason since recovering. Yes we did have to rest some along the way and the pace was not her old pace but, she was out there and ready to put it to those wapiti

if they'd have shown themselves.
I am very proud of my baby sister and extremely thankful she is still with us. I fully expect to be posting a pic of her with an elk this year. If she doesn't shoot her cow, I'd have to say it is still a successful season for her just being there.
