Default The Degradation of IFish.....

Here we go, folks.......

The crap that has been the downfall of many other fishing sites has migrated south. I notice Angie is playing nice on her latest thread, but can it last??? DON'T BITE ROTTEN BAIT!! If people log on here trolling for trouble, IGNORE IT!! As fun as it is to post a witty reply, dissin' the ignoramous that shot first, it brings everything that is great here down with it....

Backlash2,

I agree. I thought about replying, but there was no need to pour gasoline on a lit fire. I will save my energy to post reports or other fishing info.

Amen brother! If I wanted to watch people bait each other and bxtch mindlessly, I'd be reading the Oregonlive message board. Glad to see the thread's already been removed.

Ditto! Let's keep this an informative fishing site. I really look forward to reading about new techniques and places to fish. There are a lot of knowledgable people here with years of experience who can pass on a great sport to younger people and educate them on perserving our love of fishing. Don't turn this into a cheap chat room!

Yeah sure we all can get a little ****** about our fishing problems, habitat, tribes etc. But when people start ranking on legal legit fishing methods it gets to be a bit of a divisive bore. The whole "I fish a superior way attitude" is really a waste of time. I check out ifish because it's mainly a positive place to learn and share. I'm choosing not to be manipulated into participating in the latest soap opera threads I've seen lately.

Agreed. I stayed clear of the other one, but the next time around I had to call a troll a troll.

You're right, no response is best.

I agree 100% fish hunter. We as sports anglers need to unite not bash each others angling methods. Heck as long as it’s legal and ethical, who cares what method you use. Were all out there mostly for the same reasons to have a good time and hopefully catch a fish...Jeff

Amen jk......

If I thought using a pea on an egg hook under a crappie bobber on 40 lb. test gave me an advantage, I'd use it. Let the other buffoons look down their noses at me. I know that we got a lot of looks when we first started using floats and jigs as well as when we started casting big Kwikfish from shore for salmon. Who cares, the joke was on them, as these are both very effective techniques, and the main object of fishing is to catch fish, right?

Let the highbrows sneer. It's water off a duck's back to me. I use what works for me and enjoy fighting the fish that apparently don't care whether that offering is attatched to a spin rod, drift rod, or fly rod. If that isn't good enough for you, then......buh, bye.

Fish on, brothers and sisters, use what works for you and hold your heads high! Dammit, Jim, we're Ifishers, not heathens.

Fish on....................<')>>{

I thought the whole thing was kind of amusing but your right it really serves no purpose. I usually have a pretty good scense of humour about things and I was laughing at the whole thing and I love how people get worked up. But, I don't want the board to become a wasteland of garbage like the other boards have become. I may have offended people on a previous thread by quoting a popular Seattle and Portland afternoon talk show host about his take on women. That was not my intent to hurt feelings, I was only trying to stir the topic starter and have some fun. I take a pledge not to involve myself anymore in bashing topics.

Agreed. No place here for genuine bashing, name calling, or unecessary derogative remarks. Reasonable humor is fine with me. Reasonable only though!

Everything is cool in ifish land again These thing tend to snowball sometimes and it can get out of hand. Steve and Jennie do a great job on the ifish community and I'm pleased to help out so let's all support them and not contribute to posts that have no redeemable value. If a particular thread or post offends you then please let us know.
Thanks,
Stew
