1st Annual Ifish awards
In keeping with the seemingly endless awards shows on TV we at ifish have decided to have our own awards. The coveted "Arty" statue is an actual likeness of famed NW Angler our own Steve "RT" Hanson.
So let the nominations begin! Here are some of the categories I've come up with.
Best fall down a river bank
Best fall into the river
Best loss of a pee jug on the Nestucca
Best jig angler with red hair and lives on the river.
Best guide who has a red boat with a bra on it.
Best shrimp juice by someone who lives on Wilson River Loop road.
So this gets us started. Feel free to add your own "Arty" nominees.

Re: 1st Annual Ifish awards
Hey 'Stew, soooo many good catagories. We need named nominees - except where obvious. Tough to pick winners. NOT in some of them though . I know I'm in contention for at least a couple awards. I will pick the winners of one catagory right now, w/o a vote of the membership! The first annual best "hang over and still made it" award is a 3 way tie between Superfly, SAUK-it-to-em, and RT!!! This is for one heroic monumental effort to just move! And we "still made it" to Floatilla 1, and safely down the river! And it dam well better be another 10 years before I try that action again. Whew! My head throbs just thinking about it . We've had a couple good bank fall & slide candidates on here in addition to mine. I just know there's more out there - come forward; you might win . - RT
Edit: BTW, I really love the likeness of the "Arty" award troll to myself 'Stew . I just wish I had that much hair on top of my head! I don't even care if it was purple, just give me my hair back. - And 'Yall, you thought I really fell for your S. gentleman act? Muh ha ha ha ha ha.

Re: 1st Annual Ifish awards
I'll agree with RT on the best hangover awards. Was pretty funny.
I was told to put myself into the fall into the river award. Was fishing on the Hoh (the trip that RT showed up and went with Marty to the Queets). Was drift fishing through the canyon and my girlfriend and her Dad were in the cat pulling plugs (I had them at anchor). Well, snagged up on my drift. Was standing about knee deep in water (couldn't see where I was standing). Did a quick pull back on my rod and my feet went out from under me. Come to find out I was standing on moss and felt doesn't grab well on it. I was throat deep in ice cold Hoh water bobbing down to my cat. Couldn't touch bottom. Kept hold of my rod and had a long COLD day to pull out. Met RT that afternoon too.

Best grandma hook-set on a gator.
Biggest Salmon landed in a trout net.
Dumbest misidentificaton of species. (I saw a guy having his picture taken in front of the store with a 14 lb. wild steelhead that he though was a fall chinook down in Chinook, Wa. last year)

Re: 1st Annual Ifish awards
I think I would be up for several of these fine awards as well as some of my comrades in crime. Best Iced Tea on River, Best player, that would be R.T the night before Floatilla, Best looking, that would be me LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
most extra crap brought along, except warm clothing, R.T once again. Most vicodin consumed in a day that is a tie between
R.T and Superfly, best argument on River,
once again between R.T and Fly over______
and the list goes on.
superfly
