Default Commercial Net Report - Astoria

RT - in reply to your email. A reliable
source in the "business" told me they
did real well Thursday around Astoria,
which translates to a better "they are
coming" report than previous reports.
No controversy start up intended, just
passing on the info.

I spent the weekend with a gillnetter in Chinook, Wa. and he had the opposite report. He got 6 fish and heard of very few cought on the last day of gillnetting. I did however pick one up with hook and line on Sat. about 10 miles up from the Astoria Megler bridge, so there's got to be a few of those 600,000 Columbia springers passing through. Final gillnet #'s were below 6000 fish according to Wash. dept. of fish and game at the cannery in Chinook - less than 1% of the run.
