Default Which boat(s) should I bring?

I'm going to be bringing a boat down for the Salty Dog Convention Tradeshow but I'm trying to decide which one or two I should bring?

It will depend on availability after the upcoming boat shows but here's the short list:
  • Kingfisher 28' with twin 150 Verados
  • Trophy 2902 with twin 225 Verados
  • Trophy 2359 with Cummins Diesel
  • Trophy 2002 with 175 Verado
If we have time, perhaps Sunday afternoon, I would like to take the boat(s) out for some demo rides to anyone that is interested.

I'm putting a poll at the top of this thread for votes and I'll bring the most favored one(s) with me. Thanks for your input!

Rod,
Maybe someday soon Trophy will listen to you and alot of others and put an offshore bracket and outboards on the 2359! That would be a pretty sweet setup with the cabin , a LARGE underdeck fishbox in the old motor bay etc..... Sorry to highjack .....But I know that would be a no-brainer boat to recommend for guys with TUNA! in mind.

Yeah, yeah, if I only had a nickel for everytime I heard both of those comments I wouldn't have to work another day!

It will happen, just don't know when.

Actually, the two boats I was thinking about bringing were the Kingfisher and the diesel Trophy, however the diesel Trophy will likely be "MY" new boat by then!

Rod,
My vote is for the 2359 (I haven't looked at the diesel version) and the Kingfisher.

We don't sell any of those "cheap" boats Mark.

Just kidding. That's why I don't want to bring the 2902 for Calvin(5-salt) because he just wants to make me look bad next to his Grady.

Well, looks like the 28 Kingfisher and the 2359 Diesel are the winners!

We'll be headed to Newport on Friday and in the show on Saturday. If there's any time Friday afternoon or Sunday afternoon we may have to go splash'em. Boss won't mind I'm sure. (what he don't know won't hurt him right? )

Anybody wanting to go for a ride on Friday just send me a PM. If you want to ride on Sunday make sure and tell me at the tradeshow Saturday.

The 27' is a 102" beam while the 28 is a 114" beam so wider is better

Have torch, will cut, problem solved. No guarantees on maintaining the current esthetic beauty though.

I like to ride Sunday in the 2359 and bring a couple of rods for us to try out the fishing platform, so we'll need to run down to Seal Rock for the test.

Come on Hank after all you will have already tried you PD in the pool so it will be adjusted just right and you will have gone through all the safety seminars. So you should be ready for a great test ride. You can't test a offshore boat in the kiddie pool...................

Mike you are tooo funny

I have already experienced being in those kind of seas and do not care to try it again
I got caught in a SW storm out of depoe years ago before the internet was around to check on reports

Went out in a 24 ft boat with 10 ft swells at about 15 seconds and only a slight breeze
Headed up to Nelscott reef and when that storm came in the swells got about 14 ft and tightened up to about 9 seconds with a 5 ft wind wave
It took 5 hours to get back to Depoe where we got a good A** chewing from the Coast Guard

I had to throw my shorts in the trash when I got in

Thanks but no thanks
