I can't verify that the Carlson brand of Extended Choke Tubes is necessarily "better" than many other, similar, Extended Choke Tubes.
However they're similar (except not ported) to other tubes costing $60-$90.
The Carlson's cost ~$30.
The part of these Tubes that's "different" is their length and angle of choke and where the maximum constriction exists in the Tube.
At the beginning of the season I patterned several of my Remchoke Tubes using the shells I would be using during the season and wasn't impressed by what I saw. In many of my patterns there were Mallard sized holes IN various areas of the pattern.
Several shooters I knew advised trying out various Extended Choke Tubes as they had, and thought they'd noted improved shooting.
I picked up a pair of Carlson's and immediately thought I could note an improvement in my harvest percentages.
I haven't taken my loads and Tubes back out to the Pattern Board (was busy hunting most of my days off) yet, but that Extended Choke Tube is still in my barrel and I was very happy with it from the time I first used it.
Sorry to present a shooting "impression" rather than hard data, but that's all I've got so far.
Of course I'm referring to the difference between my gun's RemChoke Tubes and the Carlson Tubes. Your gun's factory tubes might be better than my factory tubes.
