Default carfax

I was looking at a used car today for sale. I was told it had not been wrecked and was in perfect working order. I never got to look nor did I ask to see the title to see if it was a reconstructed title, but when the nice family told me they were the second owner and all was fine I took their word for it. The car looked perfect and drove nice.

I ran a carfax history on the car and I was surprised to see the car came from Lousianna last year and was totaled. I wonder if it tried to swim and didnt make it

I dont want to stereo type recent immigrants from our old cold war enemies, but when I looked in the garage and saw enough car parts in there to probably qualify for a chop shop I had my suspicions on why they had a mountain of car parts in the garage. enough suspicion to pay for a carfax report, I am glad I did.

A satisfied first time carfax customer

Do us all a favor and report your experience to your local auto theft task force. It may just be fraud, but it's illegal either way. Glad you carfaxed it. No one needs the grief of a car that used to be a submarine!

Yes Please turn these people in. It might save a unsuspecting person who might be more trusting.

I play in the auction market pretty hard and some people are ruthless.

The title should show a brand if the carfax does so even if they say no it is clean you should always look at the title for brands.

Some states do not brand but I think there is only one.

I would report it also but my guess is it would be low priority.

Whenever I am looking at cars I just pass the easterners by.......
