IFISH Turkey Shoot
I have thought of this before. What about an IFISH turkey shoot.
No not a real Turkeys but a competition shoot somewhere for some kind of a prize ?
Just a suggestion !

Re: IFISH Turkey Shoot
Or a varmint shoot!
I put on a couple of varmint shoots modeled after the Varmint Hunter Association's big yearly shoot, and they were really well attended and popular. The problem is our range has changed and now we can't shoot much beyond 200yards. But I still have the targets and would be willing to help if we could find a place to do it. Pretty fun stuff.

Re: IFISH Turkey Shoot
I don't have a complete concept for it other then:
Have it around Thanksgiving time, Make it a fund raiser for IFISH charity.
Sell tickets, Provide prizes, establish shooting Categories and find a local
Range to conduct it.
I am sure there are some outstanding marksman on IFISH and I aint one of them but it could be a lot of fun....

Re: IFISH Turkey Shoot
The Siletz Range has a turkey shoot every year. steel silouette "chickens" at 200 meters. Knock one down, get a butterball!

Re: IFISH Turkey Shoot
I have access to a sporting clays course in Sherman Co. I was planning on setting up a shoot in the spring for an Ifish event. Let's do it.

I was wondering the same thing. It would be real easy to set up for archers. If one person obligated to bringing a 3-D turkey target and a couple of cedar bales for the back stop, we are in business. We would just need 20 to 30 yards for a range and then let the competition begin.
As a matter of fact, we could shoot at a 3-D deer target and pretend it is a turkey, because I have one of those.
When would we do this, just prior to turkey season?

Re: IFISH Turkey Shoot
Any weapon would work, Blackpower, Rifles with open sites,Scope mounted Rifles, Bows. Just need to set it up.......
The big question is Where ? and when.......
Gee ! I hope I didn't get myself into something.
Just a suggestion no big deal..

Re: IFISH Turkey Shoot
Why not use real turkeys.
Would be a lot more fun busting real turkeys, more fun shooting and more fun watching the ifish police snivel.

That is probably too broad.
If you followed Snakbite's idea of steel silouette "chickens" at 200 meters, that would be a snap for someone like myself with an accurate varmint rifle. But it would be a real challenge for a bowhunter.
