Default New ideas for kokanee

During the winter months when I canít get out and Kokanee fish, I end up thinking of new things to try. I just received my order from Cabelaís with a couple of the things I want to try for next year. My success fishing deep has not been very good so this year I am going to play around more with things that glow. Here is some nifty powder paint that goes on with heat. I have only tried it a few times but it is fairly easy to use. This is natural super white glow but there are other colors too.

I have pretty much just fished nickel, silver and gold blades on my spinner. This year I am going to try blades that are colored, glow and ones that produce more vibrations. On the top row left and middle are Dakota blades in nickel/blue. The far left has some of the glow paint on the bottom of the right blade. The top right is a Vibrio blade in glow white/pink. The two on the bottom left are extended glow blades. The green one really glows. The two on the bottom right are colored blades with sparkle.

I figure these should keep me busy most of the season comparing them to my current gear. Now I just need to find some different colored beads to go with these blades.

Thanks for the link, but it will be removed, most likely, by the mods due to ifish policy. You can put the name of the company and suggest a goggle search.

I have always been reluctant to try 'other than silver and gold' blades. I guess I need to expand my horizons a little.

Hey Brian,

That paint would work well on small dodgers as well. One could buy some of the solid colors from Lances and paint um up real cool like.

GOOD POST BRIAN!! As usual you got the juices flowin'

I've been playing with different type prism tape for jigs. Here is what I have came up with so far.

It's always hard to predict what will happen with new tape. The Orange doesn't like to be clear coated, the clear coat bubbles up, kinda like it's not adhering to the tape. The Blue looks like it might fade when left in the sun. No problem with the Purple. Any way it's fun to experimenting, now it's time for a test run!!

The orange actually looks good that way AuFish. Kinda like orange crush. lol

I use a lot of painted blades on kokes here in Calif. Pinks, oranges and chartuese have worked well for me. In mid to late summer we are often fishing deeper then 100 feet and the colored blades may show up better than metalic.

I have the UV apexes and heard of them. I would like to get my hands on some as I like fishing hoochies. If you know where I can find them I would appreciate a pm. I wonder if they are same as a purple haze?
