Default Electric Trolling Motor Use Question

For those of you with experience with Minn Kota 55 lb. transom mount motors:

Will it be adequate to slow troll a 14' lighter weight boat against the current in Multnomah Channel and the Columbia below I-5 during springer season?

Thanks.

Default Re: Electric Trolling Motor Use Question

It will work but it wont be an abundance of power. My 55 will not push my 19' NR scout up the anchor rope on a good tide. It works great in slower water conditions. There was a guy fishing around the Oyster House at Tillamook this fall with a 55 in about a 14' boat and he did great.
