Default Is this a good weekend to try surf fishing?

Okay. I think I am ready to get out there and try the surf fishing. Thanks for all the great information. According to EarlyBird, Siltcoos was good last week so I think I am going to give it a try.
High tide shows to be at 8:00 am.
Is anyone else going to be out? I could use an expert to show a newbie how it's done.

Check the tides and the wind and if it seems mellow enough, go catch some surf perch and have a great fish fry. I have had some great days fishing in the surf. PM me if you need any info on how to rig up or what to use for bait

Yea, post a report.
Duck season is ending and I need to pick up the surf rod.

We made it over to Florence Sunday morning. We fished about an hour before the high tide came in. My husband caught 1 perch and I thought we were going to slay 'em. That was it! We both got pretty wet and had a good time. Once the tide went out, we moved to the jetty. I caught a perch off the jetty and a small (15 inch) ling which I had to throw back. Beautiful day!! We are ready to try it again in a couple of weeks. Sure beats sitting in front of the tv or computer (or working for that matter).

Thanks for the report. I'd like to do some of that fishing one of these days.
