Posession
You can get an MIP for having alcohol in your system since you are in posession of the alcohol.
Can you get busted for being over your posession limit if you eat a duck in the field and have 7 birds in your truck from that day?
Not trying to stir the pot just curious

Re: Posession
Not technically. You're allowed 14 in possession. Once cooked (you're NOT eating it raw, are you?), the bird is probably not part of any limit unless you've cooked one you shot that day or yesterday and then shot another to take its place. In that case, yes. You're in violation since you're only allowed seven a day, 14 in possession. Eat a fresh one (not raw, though) and you're not allowed to take a replacement.
I think.

Re: Posession
Not possible with my dog. He eats them carcass and all. Some times all I find is the texture in his piles. Then he smiles as he belches in my face.

Re: Posession
I say blame it on the dog!
Vader RUINED my attempt to get an all-green limit today.
Yes, when shooting time came around, I had TWO--not one--TWO Suzies. I hadn't even loaded my shotgun yet and everything was ruined! That's five ducks he's found for me this year that I didn't shoot. I swear, I ought to just go up to Sauvie's, park, open up the car door, let the dog out, have a beer, and collect my 7 ducks.
I just wish I could understand why the knucklehead always finds pintails and hen mallards....

Re: Posession
I can not say for the alcohol but I will take Coastalfishermans word for it.
Bill is correct. The daily limit is 7. If you choose to eat one in the field you would only be able to possess your daily limit minus the 1 you ate. You would be ticketed for over harvest.
It would also depend on the species and sex of the bird that was consumed. If it was determined that you took over the daily limit on that specie or sex it would earn you another violation.
FYI; If you simply breasted out the birds for lunch and left the carcass in the field. You would also receive a violation for Wanton Waste.
From the 2007 OR Gamebird Regs pg 11:
Waste:
All game birds killed or crippled must be retrieved if possible, and kept by the hunter in the field. All crippled birds reduced to posession must be immediately killed. Waste means to allow any edible portion of any game bird to be rendered unfit for human consumption, or to fail to retrieve edible portions except internal organs of such game birds from the field.

Re: Posession
if you are asking, if you had a sliced duck sandwich for lunch, killed on a prievious hunt in your possesion, then killed 7 ducks before you ate it, would you be over your possesion limit. NO
