Re: So, You think you can call geese?
I have a buddy that use to just 'voice call' for geese and he was good. Worked great for him, except he always seemed to have laryngitis from about Thanksgiving through January.

Re: So, You think you can call geese?
That's friekin' amazing That guy's got a talent for sure!
A few years back, a buddy of mine and I were in GI JOES wandering around, when we heard this guy start calling and he was VERY good at it. We started over that way to see who it was, and low and behold it was a kid about 14-16 years old calling with just his mouth!!! We were FLOORED to say the least. To this day, I think he's one of the best goose callers i've ever heard!

Re: So, You think you can call geese?
That is ******* unbelieveable. That guy will not have to spend any money on calls and is set for life. Could prolly even win a few competitions haha. Thanks for sharing.

Bet he can't do it anymore.
I used to do a helluva elk bugle when I was 12-13. Lost that ability a couple years later.

Re: So, You think you can call geese?
There is a guy on this forum...."Gooseman" I believe. His "other" name is John.
I met him one time and he sounded a few notes off....WOW!!
Sounded just like a goose...no joke. I was amazed and made him open his mouth to see if he had a reed jammed up in there somewhere...nothing...
If you ever meet him, you'll see...just ask.
Sorry if I blew your cover John.
Jon

Re: So, You think you can call geese?
My son calls ducks with his mouth. Lonesome hen and hail call. Not a lot of volume but very effective nonetheless especially late in the season. He had a tough time getting the hang of a regular duck call when he was a youngster and started calling with his mouth when I would leave him alone in the blind when taking the dog for a walk. Late in the season I would usually stop calling altogether and let him do all the calling. As an adult he has mastered a commercial call but still reverts back to his vocal chords when birds begin to get call shy. There is something about the natural tone to his calling that always seemed to bring them in.

I hunted with Millie Tackus <sp?> a lady guide in Tule Lake and she mouth called geese. It was amazing.
And yes, I think I can call geese
