Its obviously real tough around here as is anywhere on the coast. I have found my share, but I would pretty much say it was mostly just luck. Its hard to find the big bulls sheds as they wont come out of hiiding until ealy june when they have enough horn regrowth to be miserable in the thick stuff. I have much better luck finding three and four points as they seem to stay with the herd almost year around. I could point you in a direction I would think "might" hold some sheds this year. My brain never stops thinking about where to go look next. I have many "possible" spots in the back of my mind and cant get to them all. My ex-partner and I found 23 sheds this last spring. I got lucky and found an area that had virtually no hunter pressure, dont ask me why, just got overlooked during the hunting seasons. Horns were everywhere ranging form one - 4 years old. It was exciting. Get ahold of me and we could talk about it, go over some maps and aerials and get you started. Beware, no guarantees as some years I looked my butt off and only found 2 -3.

Its clearly an addiction for me. It has hindered my relationship at times, I have spent money for bills on new hunting gear, thinking of my season game plan takes up about 90% of my thoughts. The misses tells my friends that she wishes she was an elk so she could get more attention, and sometimes she pretends she is in heat! lol I suppose I am just a hunting "*******."

I am lucky my girlfriend understands the hunting.. I think it is only because she really likes deer meat...The fishing obsession she can't really grasp. Especially all the rods I have and why I want to get more...I tell her it is nothing like having a bunch of clothes you don't wear, and if I explained to why I have so many rods you just still wouldn't understand anyways...Oh well............Can't wait to hit up the hiills around Florence for some elk...

Elk are finally calming down and coming back out. Been seeing elk all over the last few days. Good luck hitting the hills Axis. PM me and we could shoot the bull, curious where you are hitting and if I could be of any help with info.
