National Crappie tourny?

Anybody heard of a natnl crappie fishin` tourney before? I hadn`t either till a few weeks ago! Not nearly as big as the bass or redfish ones but I guess it really happens down in Orlando, Fla. this time of year! My work pard got invited to attend one in Orlando this week by a coupla real crappie pro`s and took the week to head down and actually fish with them during the tourney! Of course its during the best weather situation we`ve had here in several weeks and now I gotta stay in the dern office and do the paper work! He showed me some of the gear they use for this strange (to me) way of fishing these tourney`s. Real different! Ya`ll tell me more about this if you`ve participated, please? Kinda interesting. I have fished some Crappie Tournaments and would like to see some of there gear ? I think that you would have more crappie fishermen reading this on the Panfish thread .

How do you find out about these tournaments? Must not be all that national, if we here in the PNW don't even hear about them.
