Kids and Gators
Hello all,
Saw a thread recently about kids and Gator fishing and wanted to share our kids outing last weekend.
Three adults and three kids in the boat all day made for a busy day, but we had a blast.
My friends son reeling in his first fish ever...
Here's his fish, looks pretty proud huh?
My other friends boy with his first fish of the day.....
My son with one...
The a cool pic of my son, the camera was fogged a little when I took it which made for a neat pic...
The kids were so tired after a morning of "shakermania" that they all laid down and fell asleep for about 45 min. Unheard of for my boy but they were beat. We all had a blast, and got a fat keeper to take home as well.
I encourage everyone who can to get their kids and the kids of friends out for this kind of stuff, the kids never forget it and it is a lot of fun for all.

Re: Kids and Gators
Great pic's. I am going to do the same thing this weekend. 10 yr old son got his first salmon last year and wants to try the gators. Nothing better than taking the kids fishing and see the smile on their face when they catch one.

Re: Kids and Gators
My dad has never been a fisherman so it was a family friend that got me hooked on the sport at a young age. Great work on helping to secure the future of fishing!

Those five pics are the best pics I have seen on this board in quite some time. The second one says it all

Need2fish, nice ... real nice. That smile on the boy says it all.
Sturgeon fishing and crabbing are very kid friendly, lots of action and good sportsmanship.

Re: Kids and Gators
Great Pics!
My greatest memories with my dad were fishing. Girls can enjoy it too. I guess my dad had no choice with three of us, at least one of us shared his passion. My young boys had a chance to fish with their grandpa before he passed and those are memories they too will always cherish. My boys enjoy going Salmon fishing with mom and hope one day to go Gator fishing. However, since I've never gone Surgeon fishing, I sure don't know where to start.
Keep on fishing boys and girls!

Re: Kids and Gators
Oh yeah, The rod! Thanks for the reminder Dave
So with all the action in the boat we managed to lose a rod and reel over the side.(fortunately a backup). Tried to grab it but it was gone quick.
Then 30 min later I somehow lose one of the sea anchors....then at lunch time as we are grilling hot dogs and sausages I start fumbling for the scent, bump the grill, and dump most of the lunch onto the deck. (we picked it up quick and hit it with some more heat and it was fine)
My friends told me not to pick up their kids or anything else for the rest of the day.
Hitting it again tomorrow with fresh smelt....white T-Jet with sticker. Say hi if your out.
