Default Crimpers, sleeves, rigging etc.

There is a vacancy in my tackle box. I am looking to buy a crimper and sleeves, ring & grommets etc. The purpose is for making up tuna rigs and halibut rigs. The website that rhymes with barkmate has some kits but basically just sleeves and a crimper. I am thinking I want to buy a "stainless" crimper.
So for those of you who are experienced at making these rigs is there a favorite crimper? How about name brands and sizes for sleeves, rings etc.
I am still brousing for "kits" online but I am thinking I may be better off making up one with just the hardware and sizes for tuna.
Any reccomendations? Websites?
Thanks in advance.

Pijon, please post if you find something. I too am looking. Hopefully we'll see some examples at the SD Convention. I'll also be visiting Englund's that weekend to see what they have too.

Unfortunately I won't be going to the convention. Maybe we could have one a little farther north. What would be great for me would be a tuna seminar or newbie training somewhere around portland or less likely here in seattle.
Englands has a lot of this stuff and I will be in Ilwaco the weekend of the convention. May be rigging stuff buying spree!

I now have 3 crimpers. My favorite is made by Jinkai. It is designed to work best on double sleeves. I believe the green model is good up to 250# line but check that out. The crimps I use are copper or brass, have not tried the aluminum...

For single barrels, the crimper teeth are different and offset to create a center crease.

Be sure to match the crimper to the sleeves to the line..both size and type..

All are available online and at the commercial type fishing shops along the coast.

For a hand crimper I like the Braid super crimper though it is more money it is a great crimper. Englands has the Jinki aluminum crimps and the anti-chafing springs and he can order the bulk packs I usually buy in the 1,000 packs so I have enough for a few years. I will be at the Convention so I can show everyone how I make up my rigs. Though I will explain as well as I can in words here.

I start out by crimping a swivel to the lure end using a anti chafing spring through one end of the swivel and crimp I use a swivel on the hook end so the hook can rotate while the fish is on so I get less line twist. I use the double hooks and just slip the hook through the other swivel eye and use a tie wrap to keep the hook from spreading.then I place enough 10mm beads to get the hook where I want the hook usually so the tip is even tith the trailing end of the lure. then I pefer to use the area rule grommet and ring. Englands sells a simmular grommet ring combo too. the ring makes it easy to attach to your swivel on your main line to your rod.

I hope this is sorta clear and I am sorry as I have no digital camera to show it better. I will show how I do this at the convention though so come on by there will be more demostrations so everyone please show up to the Salty Dog convention.

I bought a complete deckhand kit from Melton's. Comes with everything you'll need for mono or wire, snips, beads, chaffe protection, etc. When you finally run out of a certain size crimp, you can get replacements at Englunds or reorder from Melton. It's much easier than trying to piece a kit together on our own.
