Default spring fishing questions

Is fishing for spring nooks different than fall? I did faily well for fall nooks on brad's wobbler running 5' drop and 5' leader, will this set up work for springers? If not, what should I use. I welcome any advice. thanks

You could do it that way, but I think if you just change the wobbler and put on an Kwik fish. I would say a K13, or maybe a K15, with a fillet of Sardine wrapped around the belly of the Kwik fish. And put that out a good 100' and see what happens. If That doesn't produce, or the tide changes and you have to troll, just troll that around for awhile and see what happens. If that doesn't work, grab a beer and head home.

bait, I mostly fish springers in less than 18-20' of water as I think you will find most do. With the heavier flows of spring the salmon don't want to fight the current, they're a little on the lazy side. That's why they like the shallow water, less current. I've done well with a dropper of about 12-20 inches and a leader anywhere from 4 to 6 feet. Sardine wrapped kwikfish has been the ticket for me.

Try a search and type in springer fishing, you may want to check out the 2003 archives and then type in springer fishing and see what you get. A lot of great info from some of the best fishermen in these parts.
