Default Frozen fingers.....

Between all the storms, no power, etc....
I haven't had much of a chance to get any seafood, fresh of course.
I happened to glance out at the beach and noticed a lower tide than the weeks of what seemed like high tides in the day light hours...so, I decided to grab my pail and go get some manila clams, those are what they call little neck steamers. I knelled down, dug one hole, and filled my bucket with-out having to get up to dig any more holes. Only one problem, my hands froze because it was snowing out and 30 degrees!
The clams taste even sweeter coming out of the cold water...YUM!

Not for a couple of days....
I let them "spit" for a few first, it gets out all the sand. I change the water once a day (fresh saltwater only).
I keep it simple as far a cooking them. I just steam them till they pop open, not a second longer, then I shuck them. I plop them whole into a container holding some already melted butter, olive oil, diced garlic. Cover and put in refrigerator over night. Next day I ready my favorite noodle, I like linguini best, drain, then toss with warmed butter/garlic/clams, and garnish with some parsley flakes and parmesan....

Lets say round 6 Friday evening.....

Rats! I'm going to be at the boat show fitting young'uns with life vests; otherwise I'd take you up on the generous offer.
