Default 06 cougars (with pics)

me a couple friends went to eastern for a week of bow hunting for elk and we came home with three cats out of the 7 that we seen

we were driving this long winding road in the sage brush at daylight and one of them spoted movement in the brush so we stoped and the both say at the same time cougar so we all start scrabling in the back seat for guns and the dang cats never moved so needless no say they got plowed

the biogest said that they are young cats both males weight about 110 not a small cat in my book

Nice work.

I could not get my sights on the one we saw hunting Eastern OR last fall. That was the second cougar sighted in as many years!

Man, you just did a TON of wildlife a big favor. Those kittens were just finishing-up their rookie seasons, with long careers ahead. Did you cook 'em up? Supposed to be some good bites.

I agree the stink is bad, a very big turnoff. I suppose the males are worse. I took a female this year and the meat stunk as well. I never even gutted her. Shot her straight on through the chest, no exit wound so the bullet must have stopped somewhere in the gut. Not something I wanted to experience.

Congrats on the cougars. All of us hunters need to remember to buy cougar tags. The more cougars we can harvest, the more big game there is to hunt. I thank you for your harvest of those cougars. Think how many deer and elk will survive with three less cats in the woods.

Strange, I didn't have that problem with mine and it was 98 that day.

I had cougar backstrap for dinner last night. If someone didn't know better, they would have thought it was good pork chop. I think they smell so bad when you dress 'em out because of the high acid content in their gut.
