Just signed up
Just joined this forum a few days ago. Don't know how many you have from this far up in the pacific northwest (Pemberton - near Whistler - B.C.) but we share a lot of the same type of fishing. Anyway, I'm an artist and fly fish throughout western Canada and as far north as the Northwest Territories. Glad to be here.
cheers,
ben

Welcome to ifish Ben. Glad to have you here , Bet you have snow there
now. I think lots of us are tying flys this time of year but when the rivers come down we.ve got Mr steelhead to catch . Do you fish for them?
Maybe you,ve got a story for us.

Yah, we actually do right now, but we're about 1000 feet below Whistler so we probably don't get anywhere near the snow you might expect. And no I haven't started steelheading yet. Fished for most of my life but only got into fly fishing a couple of years ago. Am going to start this year though. The Thompson is 2 hours away, the Vedder 3, and the lower Lillooet is only an hour. The Skeena is further north but hope to get there soon.

Re: Just signed up
Sorry Ben, I deleted after I realized I could be wrong. And I'm always wrong. I went to your homepage and I see you're a very good wildlife artist. Great work you have there for sale. And again, sorry my mind went in the gutter on that last post.

Thanks very much. Glad you liked it.
I'm trying to figure out how to post pics to show rivers up here. Will get it eventually.

Re: Just signed up
Those are some awesome paintings...I especially like "At the mouth" and "Pick Pocket" along with the vibrant colors of the reefs in some of your other paintings!

Re: Just signed up
The blue sky pic is of the Lillooet that runs through town. Has rainbows, cutts, and bull trout. The other two are of the Birkenhead. Great Rainbow and Bull trout fishing and has a big Sockeye run as well as some Coho and Springs. The last one is the last painting I did - the fish is a bull in case you can't tell.
