First Fish of '07
Started the year with a bang with this chrome 31 X 15 hen. I was nymphing with an chenille egg under an Agent Orange, I let it swing through a seam at the end of my drift and this big girl went screaming down river with my Agent Orange in her jaw. After a pretty fiesty battle of runs up and down stream I brought her to the bank. First fish of '07 and biggest steelhead of my life. I am use to catching skinny McKenzie steelies, it was nice to see a fish with a little belly left on it.

Way to start the new year! Maybe a sign of good things to come in rest of the year.

That fish is exactly why we freeze our butts of in the river this time of year. Congrats on the great fish and I hope you get a few more before the season ends.

Uh oh Twitch, it's going to packed now! JK, nice fish man and if you hit that river enough you'll get many more with belly fat left to spare.

Nice fish! I am jealous.
I have never seen the agent orange pattern. Does anyone has a picture and a recipe?
Thanks.

Re: First Fish of '07
It is a Trophy Waters pattern that I have modified a lil bit.
Hook: Steelhead size 2-8 (I use a Gamataksu (sp?) Stinger size 2
Head: Orange Bead I use an Orange Cone
Weight: lots of lead
Tail: I use about 10 strands of gold Krystal Flash
Thorax: Brown Chenille with gold mylar tinsel as ribbing
Abdomen: Black Seal Dubbing
Legs: 2 sets of Brown legs. 1 tied at the head and 1 under the wing case
Wingcase: 1/4" wide strip of flash stretched over the abdomen.
Here is a picture of the Trophy Waters version

I can see your rod/reel/fly line in the background. Get it in the challenge, its a piggie. I'll vouch for ya, I saw you fishing that day.

The rules require that the rod and reel be in the photo. While there is a rod and reel in the background of the photo, it is not very clear.
If Twitchs_Tackle will "vouch" for you, then I'll allow the fish in the competition!
