Old Memories Found
Just thought I'd let you know about a long lost box of mine found at my Dad's house the other day. I moved out not to long after high school, and had thought I'd taken everything. My Dad had been doing some cleaning in the attic and in the back corner was an old dusty box of mine.
Upon opening it, I found some fishing things that were pretty interesting. I graduated in 1988 and found old issue of STS from that era (back when the inside was actually paper, not color coated like it is now) and a few old WA state fishing regulations. I also found some old lure/corkie boxes too. It was nice to reread some of those old issues. It was really interesting to read about possibly instating a "release all wild steelhead" policy. Funny to read how some things have come true, and how some things went the other way. But I wanted to share this, it was something I found in the WA regs for 1988-90 (remember when they did rules in two year cycles???) This is something that pertains to all of us, since we are all one or both of these.....
(this is reprinted exactly as it is in the regs)
RIVER MANNERS
-There's room for both boat and bank anglers on most Washington rivers, IF everyone makes an effort to be considerate.
-BOATERS: Don't anchor in, fish through or row over water that a bank angler is fishing or playing a fish; pass behind wading anglers if possible.
-BANK ANGLERS: Show boaters the same courtesy you would want them to show you; don't cast across a boater's line or crowd in below him so that he can't move downstream.

Man, wouldn't the rivers be alot nicer to be on if we all followed this lead?
Thought this would be fun to look at....
