Hello Dogs, I need a little education please.
I found a site that shows surf for our pacific beaches....I understand the Ft and Sec's but can't get a grip on what the day or night numbers mean in degrees???
The site I'm using is here:
http://www.wetsand.com/swellwatch/sw....asp?CatId=292
If you hold your cursor over the blue graphs you will see the numbers I'm reading.
here is a sample from surf expected later today:
Day: 273 / 15 to 22 ft / 13 sec.
the 273 number has a degrees sign, like in temperature....but is this some kind of latitude long..etc
In the next time frame the number goes to 274 etc. night numbers started with 271.
Or is there a better site to find and understand what I'm looking for.
Just want to be able to see what the clamming will be like...I don't care to spend another 4 hrs like I did yesterday..The surf was brutal and unrelentless at 16 and 14sec
Thanks guys....flatlander out
