boat washdown
I would like to put a washdown system on my boat. I have gone to Fishemans marine and found a pump that did something like 15 gpm if I remember correctly for about $150. I want something that I can hook up a short garden hose to and get a spray nozzle. I dont expect the same water pressure I have at home, but more is always better.
1. Does anybody have a system on there boat?
2. Do you have to punch another hole in the boat to feed the pump?
any suggestions.

White Willie... what type of boat do you have? I just ordered a Willie Predator... is there anything you would have done differently?

Re: boat washdown
I have a washdown system on my Thunderjet. Works great! Does require a hole drilled in the transom below the water line. Had the system installed by the dealer where I bought the boat. About $250 installed if I remember correctly.

Re: boat washdown
I put a wash down system in my boat. I used a Shur Flow pump cost was about $100 after everything was said and done I spent about $150. You want to get a pump that has 45psi and pumps about 4gpm. Your house is about the same psi. You want to use at least 3/4" hose on the intake and make sure you use a screen to filter any dibree that you might pick up. Use a 1/2" or 3/8" hose for the outgoing for good pressure. My system will spray about 20'to 30' with good pressure and it works great. Good Luck!

Re: boat washdown
Roy,
Why do you need a wash down pump? From what I hear, you never catch anything. Just get your wifes cutting board to use for your eggs and plug cuts. Put directly in dishwasher after each trip, she wont mind. Seriously, I have a WDP in my sled and I would not have a boat without one. Had my installed when I bought it. I can check the pump for size if you want, it's plenty big enough to do the job. Yes you will need a inlet hole for the pump. Steve

Re: boat washdown
Steve, Like I said big inlet and small outlet hose. I didn't say I had good pressure at 20 to 30', just that it would reach that far. I have good pressure up to 10 to 18' though enough to wash the egg bugars off the front of my boat from the back of my boat.
