You lucky guys up in Washington; getting several inches of snow right in your towns. I want some down here too. I love doing Bronco cookies (not talking about horses) in big empty parking lots. And throwing snowballs at my son! I also like going over the N. Oregon coast range to fish for steelhead with snow on the banks, because there is less people fishing and it is beautiful there. ...
So here's a good tip for you guys to fish when the snow's covering most everything and the water is still real clear. Paint your waders bright white and get a white parka on over your fishing vest. Duck tape of a few little branches with evergreen needles intact onto your parka. Put a couple on your rod too. Camo'd out that good you can walk slowly right up to the steelhead and 'dabble' fish a jig or egg cluster right in it's face. What a rush to see and feel the take right at your feet. The first time I did this I got so excited I wrote "FISH ON" in the snow. You know what color, right? ... One thing I won't repeat doing though. I was standing next to a river in this great snow camo and a bull elk came up to get a drink of water from the river, right by me! Then he turned and started to eat some of the little branches off my parka. Then it happened ... I sneezed real loud

and the rest is history. I wrote another message in the snow right on the spot. Now you know why I limp and can whistle thru my ribs.
