8:45 AM check in
OK, I'm in the hands of our Father, tomorrow morning, as always.
It's just the day in the life, for Him. For me, it's seeing or not!
Anyhow, just thought I'd let you know that I'm relying on your prayers, tomorrow and wanted to thank you, ahead of time!!!
I'm not worried. I'm oddly calm, even though it could mean that anything could come of this. I'm ready. It's all planned out for me, and God knows what's going to happen, already.
"Pst! God? Can you let me in on it?"
OK, off to watch TV. Nothing to eat after midnight.
Pray that my INR is good in the morning. If it's too high, then I have to call off the surgery.
I'll let you know, before I go.
Jen

Re: 8:45 AM check in
Jennie I am praying with faith and confidence in our great God in heaven. He is good and above all faithful and just and will guide the hand of the surgeon.
Your in good hands. Gods hands.
God Bless you Jen.

Re: 8:45 AM check in
ugh. Can't I PLEASE just have a little cup of coffee???
I made some, just to smell it. Went to have just one naughty sip to swallow my pills with, and... YUCK! It's luke warm and not strong at all! Like tea. That was a joke, huh? Someone did that on purpose.
So, then I go to take my test. I have only three strips left, and they have to be air mailed to me.
So... careful, now.
First test?
ERROR: Not enough sample.
Second try: ... 1.9!
Can't get much better than that, if you want to have surgery.
I'm supposed to be from 2.0 to 3.0.
They wanted me on the low side of normal, so I won't bleed out or hemorrhage in my eye.
So, this is a good sign that God is taking care of me.
It was up over 4.0. That's too thin, and I was bruising, badly.
Off I go. At least I can take a shower.
Jen

Re: 8:45 AM check in
I spoke with Jennie today. I'm sure she'll report here when she has a chance. I don't think she'll have a chance to talk to her doctor until tomorrow, to know how successful the surgery went. My deepest prayers go to her for complete success and quick recovery. Lord, Jennie bears her burdens with such grace and strength. Allow her some time to enjoy your creation, please.

Re: 8:45 AM check in
My excitement over a successful surgery was kind of deflated with the news of Jim.
The Lord was really with myself and my doctor, and the surgery is a success, so far.
We aren't out of the woods yet, but right now I am reading and writing without any contacts... just reading glasses. The vision comes and goes, as the fluid is still settling and the eye is really traumatized.
It made me a little weak in the knees to hear that all my old sutures from the original surgery 7 years ago, never healed. When they refilled my eye with fluid, it leaked out of the previous sutures!!! That freaked the doctors out big time! So, they had to go back in and resew all of those with tons of tiny sutures to try and close it up, so that my eye would hold fluid. They found out that this is why I always had such low pressure in my eyes. It doesn't uh... hold water.
Anyhow, although I'm extremely pleased with my surgery, I'm in a lot of pain, and have to stay down for two days. Won't be on much, I guess.
The household is very quiet, and very upset over the loss of a wonderful and loved, family friend. Jim Erickson was a true friend to me.
I was thinking about the room that God would prepare for Jim, and honest to God, I can't think of anything that Jim likes better than what he had.
He honestly loved his family, his pets, his garden, his fishing... He was a very content man. I never saw him angry or upset, except when discussing fishing politics, and even then, it was more concern than anger.
He had a few people he disliked, but he was upfront about that, and never dishonest.
I loved that man so much. Every five minutes it hits me and it's still like a dream. Not quite real. I want to call him. I want to hug him. I walk around and everything is either given to me by him, or reminds me of him. He gave me my first Lami rod, and then I went down to the river and found an Okie drifter, and he had given me a bunch of those.
I dunno. I hurt. Both physically and mentally. I just miss him so much.
I just keep wanting to see him... if even just one more time. A special good bye hug.
Jim, I'll see you in heaven.
Anyhow, I thank each and every one of you for your prayers, and I'm so excited to be able to see agates, and the river, and my bobber going down the river... I'm really looking forward to all of that, and to driving again.
God is really good. I'm ashamed of myself for not having more faith.
I hope that Jim's passing is used on the board for God's glory somehow. I think it already has served that purpose in a way.
OK, enough about Jim. (over and over... can you tell I'm a bit consumed with this?)
I was so excited to see, you guys. Really I was! I'm just a bit tired and down, tonight. I'm sorry.
Jen

So happy to hear that you're seeing well now. Hang in there, and let them take care of you and your eyes now. It is great to get some good news today.

Re: 8:45 AM check in
I know! So many people were praying for him.
It was so funny, cuz I told him that people were praying for him. (Don't know if he is a Christian, or not.)
Anyhow, he said, "I know! I read all about it!" and he shook his head and walked away, smiling.
I was surprised he had read ifish!
