Smile UFC Fans Saturday Night

Greetings all UFC fans well as you all know saturday night is Tito vs Chuck. I am already having a few friends over to watch and wanted to see if anyone here was interested in joining us for the fun. The event starts at 7 pm and usually we order pizza for dinner. We of course split all costs associated with this so the more people the cheaper it is. If anyone is interested reply here or pm me and I will get back to you. Can't wait for saturday. Tim

I agree with you Roguefisher I am picking Tito myself. I imagine it will be a great fight and I believe Tito is smart enough to not chase Chuck with his hands down (see babaloo). I think the tougher fight to pick is Griffen vs Jardine. I am not sure bout that one. Arvloski should squash his opponent unless he thinks this is a dancing class like his fight with Silvia. I also can't wait to see Bisping Fight again, I hope he knock out "Ravishing Red" and does so in a violent manner. Anyway the fights should be good.

I said it on Chuck's last fight. He is out of shape and is moving much slower. The only real thing he has for him is the horse power in that left and his uppercut. Tito is a machine and he will keep shooting until Chuck is on his back, then it's lights out.

It's been a good reign for the Ice Man with a lot of exciting KO's but they are just about up.

Chuck knocks everybody out because he makes them fight his fight, he has one of, if not the best take down defence ever. Tito is a machine, but maybe it'll be on his first take down attempt, or his 5th, Chuck will ring Tito's bell and then Tito will be forced to try and fight Chucks fight to survive. BUT, IF Tito CAN get Chuck down, it's a whole different fight.
And as far as the fight on you tube, it is my understanding that you tube is doing all it can to avoid legal actions against them, IF they do have the fight, they'll definately be open for a lawsuit. if I dont want to shell out that much money,I'd find people to go in on it with me.lot better to have my friends and family around the TV watching it, than setting at the computer anyway ( might get beer in the keyboard )

Besides the main event (Chuck by TKO 2nd round)

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic will be making his entrance into the Octagon as they announce his arrival saturday night.

Mark my words the most dominant UFC fighter in history will be the Croation Cop.

Dana White is paying Mirko obscene money, UFC can finally claim one of the best in the world as their own.

Check out mmaweekly, they reported it today. I can't wait for Sylvia to be demolished!!!! As far as Chuck and Tito, I'll take Chuck by second round KO. Tito can't stand with him, and Chuck will stuff Chito's take downs. I wonder what Ortiz's excuse will be this time.

Mirko was knocked out fairly easy by Randleman, if you remember right, Randleman was knocked out by Liddell a couple years back.

I don't buy into the Croation Sensation just yet. Let him fight Brandon Vera and the Pitt bull, then let's talk.

That's true, but I seem to remember Randleman lasting 36 seconds the second time that he stepped into the ring with Mirko. Personally, I think these top pride fighters can (and will) make the UFC fighters look pretty bad. Time will tell though.

Randelman is a very strong guy and EVERY fighter has a punchers chance of winning a fight. A minor league batter can get a hit off a Hall of Fame pitcher but what does that prove?

Pride has had the top talent in the world and has now has the UFC finally successful enough to start to out bid pride for fighters contracts.

Pride fights don't get called after a couple punches either. Check out some highlights.

I love it all! UFC, Pride, whatever...I just want to watch the best fights possible.

Your right.... the guys in the UFC are nothing but a bunch of babies. Frank Trigg was a great prodigy out of Pride. What was he 0-3 in the UFC? Speaking of Prodigies, BJ Penn sure made one hell of a come back. All the hype and what is he now 0-2 since his return?

Don't think for a second that just because the refs let more punishment be thrown down on another individual that is what it's about. I think the refs do a great job in the UFC stopping fights before it get's out of hand. All it will take is one bad incident and the sport as a whole will suffer.

Phil Baroni, there is another quality Pride Fighter. He lost his last three fights in the UFC and then left for Pride.

We can talk about it all night but will shall see. I just hope this great Croation fighter that is invincible with a S on his chest since birth gets to actually compete his first couple of bouts with some quality opposition. Some of the guys he has been beating up on is UFC wash outs, Mark Coleman just to name one. I could go on but you get my drift.

One more day till Tito gives Chuck a beating....

I have seen several fights that would have been called in the UFC that had a winning outcome for the fighter getting pounded. I don't want to seen anyone get hurt either but sometimes fights get called prematurely.

He look's out of shape but he always looks that way. If Tito can survive the first 1 1/2 rounds he has a chance.

Tito will win and he will do in in a dominating fashion. Chuck's only chance is a wild looping left that connects or one of his uppercuts. My prediction is Tito boxes with him for a few, eats a jab or two, fakes a shoot. When the shoot is faked, Chuck will go into sprawl mode dropping his hands and leaving his upper body open for a crushing blow via knee, elbow, or punch. Because we are talking Tito, it will be a crushing elbow and then he will take Chuck down and it will be a replay of the Shamrock fight.

Chuck is out of shape and just plain does not have the cardio, in my opinion, to take it 5 rounds.

When Tito beat one of my all times favorites Belfort, he did it using his head. He survived the 58 punches thrown his way and let Vitor punch himself until it was hard to carry his arms. He was then very weary and was slammed with ease. That of course was followed by elbows and the such. Tito fought his fight and won.

He is in prime shape, strong, and wants it.

I am not even a Ortiz fan. I think he is very loud and he gets on my nerves everytime I hear him open his mouth or do one of his crazy things. He is like the TO of MMA in my opinion. I like Chuck cause he has a laid back persona, and the only time he gets a bit crazy is in the cage.

That being said, Tito wins this fight and then he will talk about it for a hundred years.

Back to Pride..... Josh Barnett. The guy was a joke in the UFC. Pedro Rizzo made sure of that. Mark Coleman got beat by one quality person (Maurice Smith) and then got destroyed by a less than a quality opponent in Petey Williams.

The MMA magazine you speak of is nothing more than something to read while nothing else is going on. How can you rank a fighter, MMA fighter that is, when it's all about the match up and style. Any trained fighter can win on any given night, ask Jens Pulver, due to one simple mistake or one lucky strike.

No style is better than the other. If you really want to get technical, Wrestling and Jujits will only get you bloody and beat up in a regular brawl against multiple opponents. Much like a Bruce Lee would get destroyed in the cage against a guy like Matt Hughes or the such.

Pride sucks, in my opinion, because of the lack of respect and safety they have for their fighters. Besides, rings are for boxing and wrestling, cages is for MMA.

The axe man murderer would get destroyed by most light heavy weights in the UFC and MMA magazine can rate Arlofski as low as they want but the bottom line is, I think he is the best all around heavy weight there is. He can knock you out, submit you, just plain destroy you. His last bout with Sylvia was the worst performance I have ever seen by him and I am willing to bet it will be the last.

Enough of my rambling.... let the count down begin.

If that wasn't the case..... Don't you think he would have been in the UFC when Dana was trying to set it up?

I guess this is one of the "who would win, Superman or Batman" debates but nonetheless, it would be cool to watch Pride and UFC compete in some sort of a tourney. Champion verses Champion kind of thing. That I think we could actually both agree would be exciting.

It all comes down to money. Pride was the biggest spender so the best fighters went there. Now with the success of the UFC in the states, Dana has money to burn. I have heard Pride might not survive in a year or 2 so hopefully we can see the match ups we want actually happen.

Look forward to tonight's show!

Vanderlai is not a free agent. it was not up to HIM to decide if he fought in the UFC or not. He was under contract with Pride, and they would not reach an agreement with Dana to send him to fight in the UFC. And, Dana said that he already sent a fighter to Pride once, now it was their turn to send someone to the UFC.

Pride is in trouble. Hopefully all their fighters will be free agents soon

Wow what a crazy fight I thought it was over in the first round when Tito's knees buckled but he defended right through it props to him. I was one who wanted to see Tito win but wow chuckie is the man! War Chuckie and I am really wondering who is gonna take chuck out he is on a serious roll now.
I was excited to see the cro cop and rampage announcements. Cro cop is a bad man from what I have seen.
Bisping looked good and I was glad to see "ravishing Red" get squashed. Even though Bisping was kinda a *&^%$ afterwards very impressive showing.
How bout that punch by Arvloski. Wow talk about timing. Ref says go and BAM lights out for cruz. Nice shot from a very determined and mad AA. Enough about that.
Jason Mcdonald wow nice win over Leban. Leban landed a few good shots but was clearly outclassed by the athlete.
WAR Jardine wow what a surprise, not that he beat forrest as he is a great fighter but how he beat him. Forrest got ROCKED! It was good to see Forrest so upset and I am sure he will learn and be back better than ever. I think he may have underestimated Jardine as Jardine proved he is a force.

Not being a UFC fan I know little about this sport. I will try and learn more about it.

Where do you see these fights? Are they all pay per view?

I guess I have been disillusioned by the square circle. I use to be a big fan and lost interest as the boxers I followed got old and the new ones lack the draw for me that say Patterson, Sugar Ray, Liston and Ali.

Oh well, good fights nonetheless and I look forward to Quinton "chain around the neck cause I'm cool" Jackson get knocked around.

Too bad the Croation Superman and Rampage will be fighting lesser opposition on their debuts. Oh well, guess we will have to wait a bit to see them fight some real competition. Sure would like to see the Crop fight Andre in his debut.

I was surprised they didn't put Cro Cop and Rampage on a pedestal and make an official announcement.

I too thought the fight was stopped a bit to soon. Chuck was hitting the arm of Tito the whole time he was on the ground and the ref stopped it???

Oh well... it was a pretty decent fight any how and Tito didn't say anything in disagreement about the stoppage.

I think Rampage or Cro Cop at 205lbs has a chance against Chuck. Chuck hasn't faced a good striker since his last loss against Rampage in Pride back in 2003. He has been fighting strong wrestlers ever since.

Is it just me or did Forest forget to show up. They did stop it a little early but Tito didn't have a chance anyway AND I MEAN DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE! I do like seeing Chuck win but Rampage has wooped him before and it will be interesting to see who he fights next.

By the way i'm no fashon expert but did you guy's notice Randy's UGLY shirt.

We need to see "The Law" back !!!!!!!!

Quinton Jackson has NOT been the same since he found "religion" (this is NOT meant to be derogatory in any way). He has simply not been the same fighter as he was before. Although his interviews are a little more tolerable without the F word being used for every other word (unless he got excited, then he would sometimes double it up). I don't think Jackson could beat Chuck right now. But, what do I know. I just lost a good chunk of $$ betting the underdog last night I am looking forward to Cro Cop in the UFC though. I sure would like to see him drop to 205 and fight the LHW class though.......

the Cro Cop might bring some action to the heavies. Tim Silvia is good but it is torture watching him.

Sylvia was at his best when he was not the champ. He was very aggressive, threw some heavy leather, and fought to win. Now he fights not to loose, very reserved in hopes not to make a mistake and just wins his fights off points scored in rounds. Boring to say the least. I think Brandon Vera has a good chance at getting that belt.

I think the last thing Dana wants to do is put Rampage and The Cro on a pedestal and make a big deal about it only to have it blow up in his face. Much like he did with the return of Gracie, BJ Penn, and then the bunk talk about Lidell verses the axe murderer. He was 0-3 in his last big promos.

I watched my 2nd fight ever last night. The scoring in the fight was horrible. The champ pounds down the other dude and they score it 10-9. Then in the next round the loser throws a punch or 2 and gets a the same 10-9 score. I thought boxing had bad scoring. The 1st round was at least a 10-8 and maybe a 10-7 round. That 10-9 round for the loser was no better then a 10-10. In the end the winner was determined by KO or by cover up which ever u prefer. TITO looked scared the whole fight and got whipped like he should have.

Thumbs up Re: UFC Fans Saturday Night

For those of you watching the UFC, did anyone see the last few fights with Hughes/Penn, Hughes/GSP---he was supporting Leupold logos on his shorts. Also Tim Sylvia was too in his last fight with Monson. Good to see a local company interacting with a sport like UFC. Leupold has some smart people working on this market.. Lots of fighters are avid hunters too! I want one of these guys as a packer!

personaly I think non fighting sponsors is a bad idea ie:to much $ in it.
Sponsors like that will corupt the fighting and the intent of it. Look at boxing.IMO.

What you saw was not the actual scoring, by the judges. Eddie Bravo (well respected grappler) gives HIS opinion on the scoring. It is completely irrelevant as to the actual scoring of the fight. You won't / don't see the judges scoring unless the fight goes to a decision. Learn about WHAT they score the fight on and it might make more sense (when you atually see the judges score cards). You can't compare it to boxing. They don't score based on the same things.

UFC is the fastest growing sport only 2nd to NASCAR, I would have to ask Home Depot, Lowes or Budweiser about sponsoring as a non-racing company. I think that it is pretty impressive!! Not quite tracking your thoughts on why it is a bad idea, not trying to be a smarty but curious?? Leupold has a Tactical Division(LE and Military guys running it) and i bet that they are the ones targeting this extended audience. Look at the last free fight on Spike it was at USMC Base Miramar, they showed military guysgals all over the world(Iraq/Afgan) watching the fight..

Tito got what he had coming, another beat down. Too bad chucky couldn't have spanked him like Randy did.

Chuck is SO out of shape. Who cares. Physiques do not make fighters. And apparently niether do giant, indestructable heads.

So where are all the Tito homers? What went wrong with your guy? He dragged it out a bit longer this time. Why didn't he get the best of the fat old guy?

Same reason your boat has no motor I guess.....
He tried, it just didn't work out. He couldn't take him down, didn't have the same skills to stand up with him. It was what it was. He had Chuck winded, just couldn't drag it out another round or so. Maybe if he could, Titi could have imposed his will on him.

To all you Tito haters.... Say what you will but he is still a fighter that would strike fear into anyone on the opposite side of the octagon.

Now I gotta put all my eggs in the "Michael Bisbing" basket in hopes that English brawler can retire the Ice Man.

That's a low blow. I demand a fight stoppage and I should be allowed time to recover. Seriously, don't worry about me, I fish plenty, and I probably won't ever fix that old tub.

What about Rashad Evans? Or maybe Jardine? Save a couple eggs for those baskets too. He should be and probably will fight at light heavyweight going forward, he can take a pounding, and has the grappling skills and speed to take chucky down. But what then, I don't know if Rashad could finish him. Can Chuck fight off his back? And then there's Jardine. He has a pretty complete game. He sure abused Griffin. Bisping, who knows? I would love to see him fight Jardine. All these guys are at least a couple more wins from any kind of a title shot though, I think. The iceman will reign for another year or so.

I don't know who can beat Chuck right now. i don't think Rampage Jackson can do it again. I think the best bet, right now, is if Cro Cop would drop down to LHW and fight Chuck. But, i think Cro Cop has a great chance of owning the HW class and don't see him dropping down for a while.

I think your croation sensation needs to prove himself a bit in the UFC before we start just giving him the gold.
