Default LEGAL TO KEEP NATES???

I thought you could keep one Native in Washington?? If that is the case what is the big deal with the threads about Nates? Does anyone from Washington know the Regs? I know Rags fishes up there all the time-What about it Rags? (maybe the Washington regs need to be changed). I hear the springers are in?? Guess I'd best get my plane ticket!!!! Hope it is raining!!!

It's not about the regs. It's about protecting a depleting and finite resource.

Sure, there are some place and rivers in Washington where you can legally bonk nates. With years of ****-poor State management of our steelhead, as well as tribal and commerical fisheries, there soon will be no nates left!

Most of us feel the state has yet again, poorly managed their resources. Most of us in this state believe that there should be a state-wide CNR on all steelhead nates.

Shouldn't us fisherman lead by example? Maybe other's will follow our lead.

"If it's a wild steelhead, let it go." <PERIOD>

The state allowed retention of natives on Puget Sound rivers until this year. Now the north sound rivers are wild steelhead release and the spring catch and release season is cancelled. Nice "management". The same "management" is being done on the peninsula.

Just because it's legal does not make it right. We are working to change the laws.

I agree, let them go. You have a lot of guides working the peninsula and I am sure they kill their share and more. If they would limit one trophy fish per year for the entire peninsula per fisherman and practice catch and release it would help.

I've got a great Idea Hit them in the head and put them in the fish box. Then when there all gone we won't have to worry about it anymore. Just a thought.
