I saw it in the local paper today, a little more detailed write up. Since the last Shilo thread got locked up I'll just keep my mouth shut this time...

I'll just say that the Shilo Inns won't be getting any of my business.

No charges were brought against the man. Maybe just maybe has was innocent. The settlement of $3,000 does not even cover the cost of preparing the settlement documents. Looks like one big waste of time if you ask me. I guess you could say our civil servants are very luck they are not playing with their own money.

Question? why do soooo many people defend this guy? they like his politics. why do sooooo many people hate this guy. they hate his politics. having lived in the NE part of oregon for a part of my young life, I say that the people who make a buck off the guy are in his corner and the rest (most) of the population think he is a donkey (other word deleted). That's just in his "hood". The rest of Oregon are voicing their political view when it comes to this guy. I personally think he finally hired a good PR person. Why else would he talk to the Oregonian. Almost feel sorry for him. Nah, that was just gas.

I think there may be value to bringing the charges, even if they were settled for 3K. I have a hard time believing he was totally innocent, but more innocent than what some of the earlier write-ups may have portrayed. But the value would be that after going thru the legal process, he would be less likely to walk on the wrong side of the law, and be more insistant that others staying at his lodge do the same. It is interesting the one comment he made in the paper about his on-going strained relationship with his son over these issues. I don' think any of us would want something like that to happen in our families.
