Default Fall Runs

So here is something to get excited about. Reported in the Vancouver paper, the fall coho runs are anticipated to be 1,300,000. Early run is 894,500 and the late run is 424,400. This assumes the same Ocean harvest as last year. Returning chinooks are anticipated to be 276,200, which is a 10% increase from last year. The one disappointment is that the chinook run will have a larger tule component. O Well, I may not enjoy eating them but they are still fun to catch.

The coho estimates are minimum numbers returning. They could be much higher than that. The fall chinook estimate is 400,000 of which 135,000 or so are tules and the rest, 265,000 are brights. Should be some good fishing this fall as well.

Even Better!!! Hey ISG why do they plant Tule's? They really deteriate quickly in freshwater and from what I understand they are being hatched at the Spring Creek Hatchery. Why not use a strain of lower river brights?
