Default A REALLY salty boat for sale

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Coast...QQcmdZViewItem

A little steep for me but I'd sure kick in a couple grand for part ownership!!

That would be a cool piece of Coast Guard history.

I always wanted a "36" to convert to commercial fishing, back in the day. This would be too awesome! The cost of fuel would be prehibitive though, they are not economy boats. Still, way too cool to eveb think about..talk about fishing tuna!

Isn't this the same style and size as the Victory that's stationed at YB? If a bunch of Salty Dogs went in on this, think the CG would let us ignore the bar restrictions?!!

Ron, I don't believe it's the same design as the Victory. The old 44's, while they are designed to be self-righting, don't have near as much boat under the waterline, nor as much weight as the Victory.

It gets .75 miles per gallon of fuel. I could probably afford to see the end of the jetties a couple of times a season.

You could not afford to get yourself out far enough to be in harms way.

I imagine in inclement weather the fuel consumption worsens.

I seem to be awfully negative tonight. Go ahead and make a bid. Get about 100 friends together and each kick in a couple of thousand. You can get the boat bought and have a lttle left over to pay the first seasons fuel. It would be nice if it came with a trailer.

Room for 21 survivors always come in handy. When the Duckwheat special arrives on the scene we have some straws ready to see who gets to come aboard.
