Default Jetcraft Boats

Just wondering if anyone of you own a jetcraft boat and needed the factory guys to correct a mistake. I.E., on mine they only welded on 2 of the bottom strakes instead of the customary 4. I've e-mail the president of Jetcraft digital photo's to prove this, but have yet to hear back.

I have a 1999 21ft jetcraft fastwater and have had only minor problems such as the locks on the glove box and rod lockers are crap but other than that it has been an outstanding boat. I have had to have some parts replaced such as the broken seat which was a result of a boat&rock incident (boat was fine but the seat took a beating)they promptley sent me a new one. I have however had very little luck reaching them by e-mail however. try calling them and ask for mike or virgil.

Thanks for the reply. I think you are right about returning e-mail messages. Kind of like the selective hearing my spouse has at times.

I bought a Jet-crap a few years back (I'm still using it to guide in) after I got it, I noticed several flaws in the workmanship that I thought could be fixed very easily and wouldn't take too much time and $$$ at the factory level.

I wrote a very detailed letter (very nice as well) just to let the folks at Jet-crap know the problems and what could be done to correct them.

I didn't even get a "thanks" or a "screw-you"! Just gave me the impression that they could care less about their product or what people think that purchase it. Not the way I like to do business.

I'll be the first to tell clients in my boat that are interested in Jet-crap that there are lots of other builders out there!

I'll do business in the future with someone I feel cares about their product and how the customer feels about it, certainly not Jet-crap.

I can't afford to change boats right now but when I do, it won't be Jet-crap.

It's great advertising for them, I'm sure I've steered a good number of boat buyers away from them!

I can tell you are still a wee bit ticked. I understand and agree it's poor business. The boat I have I bought used, and as far as quality and workmanship, it's not the best, but not the worst I've seen either. I don't think Jetcraft will honor it's mistake for me because I'm not the original owner, however just a simple reply to state their position shouldn't be that difficult to do. Time will tell, and I expect I will be joining you in the effort to worn others considering purchasing one.

I purchased a 20 ft Fastwater this past summer. I recently sent an e-mail to ask a question about my sportjet engine and I received a response the next day from their Portland dealer Magnum Marine. A few days later I received literature direct from Jetcraft in Medford. So they must at least look at the e-mail sometime. I have also expierenced some minor problems with workmanship ie fish finder not correctly hooked up and a rattle on the window lock, and wash down hose connection leaks. Magnum fixed those rapidly and have been very helpful...... so far. Basically I felt the QC person who did the final accesory check at Jetcraft didn't know what they were doing. I have had no problem with the hull, engine, or normal riggging. It's the accessories that have been lacking in quality. I guess time will tell. Its obvious that other sled owners experience the same problems with other brands of boats. I noticed several quality issues with other buiders when I shopped for boats. I hope that I won't be sorry for my decision.
Just my .02

Good luck Finn-icky.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure yet weather or not I will get a reply. I do know that after talking to the president of Jetcraft at the sportsman show that they where busy. Their next destination was in California somewhere for another show this week.
I'm beginning to think that if I call Perry over at Magmun Marine I will get some kind of help.
