Wine bar/resturant
I'm looking for some recommendations on a nice dinner location that is geared toward the wine enthusiast and has good food but is small and not over crowded.
Any idea's to help a brutha out?

Re: Wine bar/resturant
I just had a very nice lunch at a great little Italian restaraunt in Lake Oswego this afternoon. The name of the restaraunt is Ricardo's and it is located right on Boones Ferrey. Great wine selection and the food was terrific. It is pretty small with maybe 12 tables, so I would recommend calling for reservations.
Also, I think the Stockpot in Beaverton has a fairly decent wine selection as well. Food there is always good. I recommend the whiskey peppercorn steak!

Re: Wine bar/resturant
If you want a cozy place that has killer atmosphere, good reasonable food and a nice wine bar, check out Wine Down on 28th. (Near burnside) The owner's name is Stuart. Tell him Brad sent you. I know him well, he's a great guy. The have live music most night, a sweet fireplace, and an ample menu.
you won't be dissapointed, I promise.

Re: Wine bar/resturant
It may sound weird but Cinatopia (sp) in Vancouver is pretty cool. They have a very nice restaurant with a great wine selection. They also have a self serve wine tasting room. You buy a smart card and put as much $$$ on it you want. They have around 50 wines on nitro and you just insert your card, press the button for the wine you want and it dispensed a shot into your glass. The wines they have are great and range from simple and affordable to WOW and W$W. Look them up on the web.

Re: Wine bar/resturant
JF knows where to find me.
I think he thinks that I'm just an unsophisticated redneck that can only sell Mikes Hard Lemonade.
Little does he know I drink with my pinky out as well
Give me a shout JF. We'll get you set up !

That makes you a SOPHISTCATED redneck!
I bought a GC at Grolla on NE Killingsworth after reading a lot of good reviews. I am going with the Wine Down as a mothers day gift as well.
I'm open for further suggestions as I like to buy my folks GC to cool places for birthdays, etc.
Thanks guys!

Re: Wine bar/resturant
Try the Ring Side. There is one off of Division and one off of Burnised on the West side. They are a little spendy but they have an awesome steak and a great wine selection.

Re: Wine bar/resturant
Grola is very cool - although theres a pretty steady stream of police cars zooming by because of the station location. We thought we'd rent the place out some time for our group of friends. I suggest the lamb. The owner usually will come by and chat for a bit as well. He's from chicago if i remember correctly.

Re: Wine bar/resturant
I will second Wine Down on 28th. Nice place ,great food and good selection of drink. I have known Stu for quite some time and he has really done alot with that place from what he started with. When you tell him Brad( GBS) sent you, tell him Michaelangelo also sent you that way (I painted a portrait of his son for him).
