Fishing and Hunting News
Yes, I already know how most of us feel about this glorified piece of toilet paper. However, I still subscribe. Not for information, I just like the pictures of other people enjoying our outdoors. As I'm thumbing through the latest issue(Washington edition), I see multiple pictures of guys holding up nates, with their hands jammed into the fishes gills!! What in the hell is up with that?? One guy you can even see his finger coming out of the fishes mouth!! The caption states that the fish was CNR'd. That's great, but get your hand out of the fishes gills, people....

Re: Fishing and Hunting News
These guys must learn their CnR techniques off of the TV fishin' shows. Seems like on every show they gotta let the fish flop around in the boat, then hold it up for 10 minutes before release.

Re: Fishing and Hunting News
I used to buy and read the rag and found some good maps but never any real fishing news. I always thought it was made up of stories made up in the tackle shops to promote sales.

"Generic" reports at the right time
of year. Sometimes valid pictures,
but pictures and reports as late as
the "shuda been here yesterday" rag
it is. Calls em' like I seeze em'

Re: Fishing and Hunting News
We just had a similar thread. Let's cut these guys some slack here. Their magazine foremat can't be up to date unfortunately, but they must have some redeaming qualities to be around for so long. Most of you guys know of good places to get same day reports to help your fishing plans . - RT

Re: Fishing and Hunting News
I'm with RT! While the rag is outdated by the time you read it, have you tracked your mail lately??? Keep in mind, although there are quite a few snafus in F&H news, they have to produce the articles, put them in the paper, and then mail it to us poor souls that read it. I'm one of those poor souls and take it with a grain of salt. Some of the articles are very informative. If you're looking for a fishing report, you won't get a good one. That was last week. I've used the maps and the phone numbers to give me decent trips over the years and I've got to give them that. The editor? The old one was much better.

Re: Fishing and Hunting News
Hey Rick, that wasn't meant to be directed at you. Your post just happened to be right above mine. I posted that because we just had a really long F&H bash fest thread and it looked like unnecessary deja vu part II. That's all; no biggie . ... As for spanking, just a little warning about Os ... he asks just about everyone if they wouldn't mind spanking him. I'm a bit suprised he hasn't made a public request for it before now. I've never been able to understand why some people get off on that kind of stuff. Maybe Os can explain it here. Os? ...
