Ok, what about aftermarket sunroofs?
So we covered aftermarket leather...but what about aftermarket sunroofs? Are they reliable? Do they look good? Do they leak or have problems?

if you drive your car indoors or live in Arizona they are fine, other than that....stay away from them. They actually are not to bad these days....power slides and all, but they do fail. They cannot manufacture aftermarket inbody rain-wells.......super seels and the like.
They are really high-tech theses days too, not just cut a hole and screw in, but actuall units.
My advise, if you what a sun/moon roof....purchase a vehicle with a factory install.
As for the leather,,,,,,I never said a peep.....alot of the aftermarket leather is better than OEM.

Re: Ok, what about aftermarket sunroofs?
I've heard horror stories! Not worth the money or the probable leaks

Re: Ok, what about aftermarket sunroofs?
I don’t know about aftermarket sunroofs, but my old Escort had a factory one that leaked really bad. Right on my nose when I was driving, there’s nothing worse.
No more sunroofs for me man. Never again!

Nothing yet....still shopping around. Durango is first preference, Pilot a close second.

Re: Ok, what about aftermarket sunroofs?
Have owned one SUV with a sunroof.....and it leaked. The one thing that is for sure is eventually they all leak.. When I bought a new SUV, sunroofs were not on the list of options. The leather seats on the other hand, were not on my first vehicle, but were on my second. JMO

I call them "sun leaks".
They eventually will leak. I would never buy a car with one again.

Re: Ok, what about aftermarket sunroofs?
Shops willl only install sunroofs around Portland and won't sell to do it yourself installers. They got tired of dealing with improperly installed roofs and leaks.

Re: Ok, what about aftermarket sunroofs?
Can't under stand why sunroofs are getting such a negative response. It all boils down to quality workmanship. I would be more then glad to help you install once it stops raining.
Here's one of our latest projects. As you can see we only do it first class !

Huh...my '96 Acura with the factory sunroof hasn't leaked a drop...
I must be lucky.

Do you and your installation team do convertables ?
I'm thinking of making my crew cab a convert, I'm a convertable kinda guy.
Nice work
